Welcome To The Town of Ticonderoga
The Town of Ticonderoga is located at the confluence of Lake George and Lake Champlain in the southeastern corner of Essex County, New York. Ticonderoga is entirely located within the Adirondack Park and nearly one-third of its land area is part of the State Forest Preserve.
A year-round community of approximately 4,789 (2020 Census) residents with summer residents increasing the population substantially during the summer and fall months, Ticonderoga is a destination for tourists who love the lakes, mountains, historic landmarks, and a rich education in 18th century history. Ticonderoga’s significant military role in our nation’s early history remains a vital component of the community, with the Fort Ticonderoga historic landmark drawing around 100,000 visitors annually.
Ticonderoga Downtown Revitalization Initiative
Help Shape Our Community’s Future
What is DRI?
The New York State Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) typically provides $10 million dollars to an individual community and their downtown to continue efforts to create vibrant centers for community members and visitors alike. This is an amazing opportunity for Ticonderoga and our surrounding communities.
Here’s how you can help get this grant for Ticonderoga!
For the Ticonderoga DRI application, the committee needs to showcase the many public and private investments that have been made within the community throughout the past decade and identify shovel-ready and future projects that would ignite additional growth and be a catalyst for future investments. The committee also needs ideas for priorities and what you envision for your Downtown Ticonderoga!
Please take some time to review our DRI website. Remember, this is YOUR opportunity to find out more and to express what our town needs to become a vibrant place to live, work, and visit as you envision it…a place that provides opportunity for investment and services and activities for residents.
YOU have the opportunity to share your ideas and shape the Ticonderoga downtown for decades to come. An opportunity like this is rare and we value your thoughts on the Ticonderoga of the future.
This is your community and your future!
Please take the survey below and share the link with your friends and family to make sure your voice is heard! We need your participation! The committee needs your ideas for downtown priorities and what you as a community envision for your Downtown Ticonderoga!
What types of additional shops, dining options, and services would you like to see? What type of beautification or enhancement projects would you suggest? What additional recreational/outdoor activities or events would bring you to Downtown Ticonderoga more frequently? What would support a more year-round economy?
Next survey will be open from June 7th – 21st, 2022. Please check in then!
